Rae’s Run across America: final route and celebration

Summary

Soles 4 Souls is planning a big celebration at the end of Rae’s Run across America at the Manhattan Beach Pier on Wednesday morning starting at 10:00 AM. There will be lots of cool, and very important people at this event (I can’t even tell you all who will be there because some of them are a secret … shhh!)

Next Wednesday (2012 November 14) Rae Heim will make history (does that seem weird, that on a future day, she will make history?) as the youngest person (age 17 when she started, now 18) to run across the United States.

Which is really something very special! And if you can be in southern California on Wednesday, then you should be at the Manhattan Beach Pier!  In addition to meeting Rae Heim (who at that time should be famous), this might also be your chance to meet other runners who have crossed America, and some (like myself) who have not, as well as other very important people (again, shhh!)

And Barefoot Ken Bob Saxton will be there too…

If you want to run with, bike with, need a ride to or from start and finish locations, or want help with transportation or volunteer at an aid station… contact Barefoot Ken Bob to get a detailed list of start, finish, and meeting locations.

Volunteers, vehicles, etc.

We will need at least one other vehicle capable of carrying a bicycle (little old mountain bike) on Friday, Sunday, and Monday. The bicycle with a cooler on the back, will be our roaming aid station, and also can be used if someone else doesn’t want to run the entire distance that day.

Barefoot Ken Bob Saxton is donating coconut water (various flavors), bottled water (one flavor; mountain spring), oranges, Vegan peanut chocolate crunch Halloween candy (if any survives the rest of this week), and a roll of toilet paper (for emergencies).

If you have drinks or snacks (besides coconut water, water, oranges, and old Halloween candy) which you want access to along the way, bring them. We’ll be setting up aid stations (a volunteer, a sign, and a cooler with your drinks and snacks, and others).
