One comment on “Runner’s holding area, Boston Marathon (2005)

  1. Hi there. I started barefoot running about a year ago and I’m loving it. I started slowly and now I can run barefoot on asphalt and concrete for about an hour without trouble. When I first started, I couldn’t do more than about 10 minutes. Over the last year, I’ve enjoyed the steady progress – and I haven’t had any injuries from it, but I seem to have stalled at the one-hour mark (about 7 or 8 miles). I typically run barefoot for 45 minutes to an hour, twice a week. And I also run with shoes for about an hour, two or three times a week. Does anyone know how to go farther barefoot without getting blisters? I know my lower legs are strong enough for it – the problem is the bottom of my feet. For the last three or four months, I haven’t been able to go any longer than one hour before the bottoms of my feet start to hurt and I start to suffer blisters. Thanks for the help.
