2024 Sep 21 Barefoot Camino Day 8 – Ken Bob Goes to España

Today we started at Estación marítima – Ferry A Guarda, Pontevedra, Spain

Yep, “we” made it to España (Spain)! Woo Hoo!

Well technically my sister, Adreah and her friend Cheryl walked all the way to Spain from Porto, Portugal. Adreah’s husband, our chauffeur, and myself, Barefoot Ken Bob, the navigator, drove all over the place. I did walk a bit with sis’ and Cheryl on the Camino path, as we drove along and met up with them along the way.

Found some interesting and wonderful terrains for barefoot walking. The best, unfortunately, was a wrong turn off the Camino walk path, but still wonderful.

And it rained today while driving and when we stopped for lunch. Quite conveniently, not wile Adreah & Cheryl were walking (though a little misty).

My left foot still hurts (arthritis) if I’m not careful to relax enough while stepping, or if I walk very, very, very long, like Adreah and Cheryl are doing almost every day. Walking some helps. Walking lots makes it worse. The only two blisters on my feet are from wearing footwear on airplanes and walking around terminals in footwear… worse yet, the seam on my compression sock made those blisters worse. Hope they’re healed before I fly back home and do it again.
