Pontevedra, Spain
A couple from Germany said they have been seeing me going the wrong way on the Camino since Porto, Portugal. I explained I ride in a car several kilometers then walk the wrong way to meet my sister & her friend (who are walking the correct direction), then I walk forward on the Camino with them. Then drive on several more kilometers and walk the wrong way along the Camino again, etc., etc., etc.. The German man said, “we see you again and again and again, and it makes us laugh”. I said, “good”.
Still partly rainy, but less than expected, and again, nice wet paths, some paved some dirt with and without gravel, some cobblestone – the good old cobblestones with dull edges, that make my feet and ankles flex – which is good up until they get tired of flexing so much. But at least not as wearing as those freshly cut sharp-edged cobblestones.
Later that evening, Cheryl, Adreah, and I went out to Taberna Casa Chaves for dinner. Though the young bartender said they did not have anything Vegan on the menu, he did say “yes”, when I asked if I could get a lettuce, tomato, and whatever other veggies they had on a sandwich. The woman in the kitchen also said they had vegetable soup with noodles. So I got a nice Vegan soup and sandwich. Adreah enjoyed a chicken sandwich, and Cheryl loved the local specialty, cubed pork on chips (French Fries).
