Barefoot Running Meetups, Oakland, California

We are a group that meets occasionally (but usually every week) to run or hike barefoot in Oakland. So far our events are a weekly stroll around Lake Merritt, and an occasional hike/run in Redwood Regional park.

Are you a barefoot runner, hiker, or walker, or do you know one?

Our runs tend to average around 10-12 min/mile pace, but if there is interest some of us can run faster. We want anyone to be able to do it. If you are a seasoned runner then it might be a bit slow for you, but if you’re not used to running barefoot then this is probably what you should do first.

You’d rather walk? That’s OK!! Whether or not you’re part of our group run, if you’re interested in barefoot running we will find a way to involve you!
