Summary
My Running Mentor Manoj Kuriakose introduced me to Barefoot Running and it is because of him, I ended up with this book. And even with all its criticisms which I have stated here, I will say this –
This is a MUST-HAVE-MUST-READ book! It has changed the way I run.

Thanks for the wonderful review.
I totally agree that many runners will not find it acceptable to start running barefoot, by actually being barefoot, because it does hurt to run barefoot on many terrains, as long as one continues to run in a way which puts excess stress and strain on the feet (and by extension, the body). This is exactly the reason anyone who is interested in changing or improving their running technique SHOULD start in BARE feet. If the stresses you put on your bare soles, hurt, then those same stresses pass up into the body, where, though the pain isn’t immediate, there can be long-term damage occurring.
Our bare sole, or the pain we feel, therefore, is our first line of defense against injurious running technique.
Of course for those who do not wish to change, or improve, or listen to their own good senses, this will certainly be unacceptable.
Barefoot running is only for people who want to learn to run more gently and have fun running.
