Summary
My first race since breaking my 5th metatarsal nearly 5 weeks ago (see previous broken foot update). I walked, not ran, with Psycho Herman, my four-bare-footed “running” partner, since it was still reasonably cool for the first race (Huntington Beach residents only) at 7:00 AM. We managed to finish, apparently, in under 12 minutes! Well, not really. The second race began at 8:00 AM, and we finished shortly after that – about 1 hour and 11 minutes and some seconds ( 1:07:31 chip time).
Our friend, Dave Parsel ran barefoot today, and our neighbor Ray ran (with shoes – but I’ll post his and a few other friends photos here anyway).
