Summary
It was raining… hard… really hard… no, I mean REALLY HARD! Not “raining” like a fellow wearing Vibram Five-Fingers is “barefoot” but, I mean “RAINING” like I am “BAREFOOT!” The newscasters called it a “torrential downpour”.
Then, as I’m running along at about mile 10 on the course, I get a call from a friend.
“Hey Ken!”
“Hi Don, I’m running the Los Angeles Marathon right now. What’s up?”
“My brother has been checking on the weather, and you’re about to run into a BIG rain storm.”
“I’m running in a big rainstorm now…”
“Well, it’s about to get bigger.”
…and it did.
Still, it was a lot of fun.

Injuries
2 (two) glass splinters during the marathon (this is some kind of record, that’s as many glass splinters as I’ve picked up in ALL of my previous races combined! Still, neither was any problem. I simply stopped, and worked them out with my fingernail… actually came out fairly easy because the skin on the soles of my feet was nice and moist from the rain. Then I continued and finished the marathon.
