  1. Hello Ken Bob!
After reading your book in French, I decided yesterday to take off my minimalist shoes (with which I have never been injured so far, unlike all other traditional shoes).
I followed your advice and ran a few hundred meters on coarse gravel trying to relax as much as possible and bend my knees. And what a surprise, it was almost pleasant ! However, today, I feel pain under my metatarsal pads. Is this normal? Did I overdo it? Maybe I lifted my toes too much?

    • The first time we do anything, even a small amount could be considered “intense”. So if you don’t hurt during the session, that’s probably not too much. But it’s also not surprising that you hurt the next day. That is your body reminding not to do that every day (especially when beginning). It really is a good way to remind us how much more gentle we could walk or run, with the rocks emphasizing how much pressure we are landing with.
